Manta5 DeadCat: separate the frame from the equipment

The Manta5 DeadCat frame is a five-inch foundation for an FPV build. Its carbon structure and aluminium camera supports determine the mechanical layout; the flight controller, motors, radio receiver and video equipment determine the completed aircraft. Buying the frame alone does not include an O4 air unit, GPS or a six-cell power system.

Axisflying also lists a built Manta5 DeadCat with O4 Lite, GPS and receiver choices. Specify which package is being quoted. The assembled reference pictures below illustrate the frame in use, not the contents of a bare frame kit.

Three mechanical checks before selecting electronics

Camera support: Check the exact camera cradle and its width. A general reference to DJI compatibility does not make O3 and O4 camera hardware interchangeable.
Central stack space: The frame documentation lists 20 mm and 30.5 mm mounting patterns. Board outline, screw size and space above the connectors must also fit.
Motor attachment: The documented mounting pattern is 16 mm. Match the motor base and specified hardware to the arm rather than choosing by propeller diameter alone.

Plan the camera installation as one assembly

The front carbon and aluminium parts provide the structure around the FPV camera. Camera angle, lens position and propeller clearance have to be checked with the intended camera fitted. DeadCat geometry can help with the view, but a clean frame is not a guarantee that every camera angle or crop will exclude the propellers.

Keep the video transmitter, its mounting hardware and cable arrangement together in the parts list. Leave service access for connectors and confirm that side pieces fit the selected version. Do not rely on an earlier DJI Air Unit or Vista mounting note to establish a drop-in O4 installation.

Define the build, then the power supply

A frame has no battery cell rating by itself. For an assembled 6S option, verify the installed motor and ESC combination before selecting batteries. For a frame project, choose those electrical components as a matched system and obtain the appropriate manufacturer instructions.
