SIYI FT24 · RADIO TRANSMITTER

Physical controls for drone builds with a separate FPV system

The SIYI FT24 is a 2.4 GHz radio transmitter with 12 physical channels and a 2.8-inch LCD. It is a candidate for multirotor, fixed-wing and FPV drone projects that need configurable sticks, switches and receiver outputs. Its small screen presents radio settings and telemetry; it is not an Android tablet or an integrated live-video display.

Choose the radio and video equipment as separate parts of the aircraft system. That approach lets you compare the receiver, battery and required telemetry accessories without paying for ground-station features your build may not need.

FR or FR Mini: decide at the aircraft

The receiver choice changes the physical installation and power requirement. FT24 supports the FR and FR Mini receiver families, but a package photograph does not define which one will be supplied. State the required receiver in the order.

The FR specification also lists eight-channel PPM and PWM outputs. FR Mini output descriptions differ between official sources, so confirm the required output on the actual supplied version rather than assuming the two receivers have identical connections.

Configuration for the aircraft you fly

SIYI provides model settings for planes, helicopters, gliders and multirotors. Programmable mixes and throttle or pitch curves are useful selection points for a custom airframe. Start with the functions your pilot needs, then identify which sticks, switches and channels will carry them.

The 12 physical controls should not be confused with the 16-channel S.Bus output listed for the receiver. Count the required operator inputs and the downstream signal channels separately.

Telemetry and video are different

The manufacturer's FT24 material lists RSSI, aircraft battery and receiver-voltage telemetry. MAVLink flight information requires the appropriate receiver connection and a Bluetooth expansion module for the described setup. Include these parts if telemetry to an external device is required.

FPV viewing needs its own camera, video link and display. The radio's reserved expansion functions do not mean that a digital video transmitter or goggles are included.

Choose the battery as part of the package

FT24 supports two 18650 lithium-ion cells or a 2S LiPo battery through the specified XH 2.54 three-pin connection. The transmitter measures 191 × 175 × 64 mm with the antenna folded; its published weight is 586 g. Confirm the complete installed weight with your selected battery when comparing equipment carried to the flying site.

The published 22-hour reference applies to the listed 18650 arrangement; it is not an FD measurement or a promise for every cell and operating condition. Specify batteries and charging equipment rather than assuming that loose cells, a LiPo pack or charger are supplied with the radio.

FT24 questions before ordering

Can I use FT24 for simulator practice?

SIYI documents a USB simulator function. Tell us the PC and simulator you intend to use so the connection and control recognition can be checked for that combination.

Does the radio include a phone or tablet?

No external device is defined by this listing. If the setup needs an external application, specify the terminal and the accessories used to connect it.

Will it provide the advertised distance on my drone?

The manufacturer quotes up to 15 km in unobstructed, interference-free conditions. Actual installation and local radio conditions change link performance. That figure does not establish a usable operating distance for your aircraft.

Ask FD for the FT24 configuration you need

Send your airframe type, flight controller, required receiver outputs and preferred FR or FR Mini receiver. Add the battery choice, telemetry requirements and existing FPV equipment. The quotation can then separate the radio package from optional video and external-device accessories.
