SIYI FM30 is an external 2.4GHz RC and data module with Bluetooth and bidirectional telemetry. It is relevant to an FPV or civil UAV build when a separate control radio module is required for the chosen handset and aircraft receiver. Select it by the host radio, signal input and receiver combination before comparing headline transmission figures.

FM30 does not provide a camera-video downlink or an integrated FPV display. If the project also needs live images, specify that video system independently. Keeping these functions distinct makes the complete ground-equipment list easier to understand.

Start with the signal that enters the module

Check the handset bay and the installed outline

The module body is listed at 70 × 20 × 33mm and 36g. These figures help compare the part with a proposed installation, but the host bay, attachment method and antenna clearance must also be checked. A similar-looking radio case is not evidence of a suitable mechanical or electrical connection.

Send the handset model and a description of its module bay when requesting FM30. Ask the supplier to identify the supplied receiver and required harness, rather than treating a bare module as a complete aircraft radio system.

Use Bluetooth and telemetry for a named data task

Built-in Bluetooth supports the module's data workflow, and the catalog describes flight-controller information and configuration functions. State the application and flight controller you intend to use so that the proposed data path can be checked. Bluetooth support does not make the module a wireless display for the aircraft camera.

A useful request says which information must reach the ground application and which existing equipment will receive it. This is more precise than asking for a module that works with every autopilot or mobile app. It also separates an optional software task from the basic radio-control requirement.

Keep the module and receiver power specifications separate

SIYI lists a 5–8.4V module supply and 0.7W power consumption. Those values describe FM30, not every aircraft receiver that may be supplied with it. The receiver's power, dimensions and output connections should be quoted against its exact model and revision.

Include the host radio, preferred signal input, receiver, antenna and necessary cables on the purchase list. Identify any of those parts already owned. For a new FPV build, add a separate line for the camera, video transmitter and viewer so that the control module is not expected to replace them.
