Start with the receiver family in the aircraft

The published mode choices describe available system configurations. They do not mean every receiver uses every RF path, nor do they provide a guaranteed operating distance. For a new drone build, agree the radio and receiver combination before designing the aircraft connections.

Controls and handling that distinguish the X20R

The X20R adds two extra trims to four standard trims, alongside knobs, adjustable-position side sliders, front custom buttons and rear momentary buttons. This gives a pilot several ways to allocate model functions. Prepare a short list of the actual functions needed instead of selecting a radio purely by its maximum channel count.

Its ETHOS operating system supports model configuration through the touchscreen and physical navigation controls. The display is a radio interface, not evidence of a built-in live camera receiver. An FPV installation still needs its own appropriate video link and viewing equipment.

Check the supplied version and accessories

The manufacturer documents a USB Type-C data and recharge system for a 2S lithium-ion battery, internal flash storage and an external TF-card slot. Request the battery, card and carrying accessories you need on the quotation; a specification saying the radio supports them does not establish the contents of every seller's package.

For a UAV team adding radios to an existing fleet, send the current receiver models and radio firmware details. This is more useful for checking the proposed package than an aircraft type alone, especially where several FrSky RF generations are already in use.
