POWER AND MEASUREMENT

Two components answer two different power questions

The SIYI Hall Power Module pairs a regulated supply with a separate non-contact current sensor. The module accepts a catalog-listed 7–100V input and provides a 5.35V output for compatible avionics. The Hall sensor measures current in the conductor passing through its opening. This arrangement separates the current measurement from the small regulated supply delivered to the flight controller.

It suits a drone project where the buyer needs to identify both the battery voltage and the current-sensing arrangement. Select the unit around the input-voltage range, the load on the regulated output and the receiving flight controller's measurement interface.

The power module

The aluminum-bodied module supplies regulated voltage and measures battery voltage. Its listed output is 5.35V ±0.03V, with a maximum output-current figure of 6A. Available output current depends on the input voltage, so the peak figure is not a promise of 6A at every battery voltage.

The Hall sensor

The separate sensor measures current without placing a conventional measurement resistor in that conductor. The catalog gives a 180A measuring limit, ±0.1A measurement accuracy and a 9mm wire opening. These values describe the sensor, not the power-module output.

Compare the usable supply at your battery voltage

Wide input range is only one part of a BEC selection. A flight controller and a companion device drawing power from the same supply create a different load from a flight controller alone. Ask for the available regulated current at the proposed input voltage and cooling conditions, with the connected loads named individually.

SIYI's power-module FAQ provides input-dependent output figures rather than a flat 6A across the range. That is the appropriate basis for checking a specific installation. Avoid comparing this small avionics supply with a propulsion-battery current rating: they serve different circuits.

Check the sensor opening and both mounting spaces

The power module is listed at 42.5 × 31.5 × 16mm and 28.6g. The Hall sensor is 25 × 25 × 9mm and 9.4g. Because they are separate components, the enclosure needs space for both and for their interconnecting cable. The wire-hole diameter is a physical fit constraint as well as a specification-table entry.

The front connections and cable arrangement deserve particular attention on a replacement order. Request the appropriate power-input lead, flight-controller power cable and sensor cable for the selected package, rather than inferring their inclusion from a photograph.

Hall-module selection questions

Does 180A mean the module supplies 180A at 5.35V?

No. The 180A number describes current measurement by the Hall sensor. The regulated supply is a separate output with its own input-dependent capacity.

Is the Hall sensor contained inside the power module?

The documented arrangement uses two separate pieces. Confirm both are included if you need a complete voltage-and-current monitoring package.

Will it work with every autopilot?

Confirm the receiving controller's measurement inputs, supply requirements and connector pinout for the offered revision. A compatible voltage alone does not establish a complete electrical match.
