A vertical FPV tour still needs to explain the space
A wide venue-tour recording can show a doorway and the room it connects to in one picture. A narrow crop may keep an attractive feature sharp while removing that relationship. When adapting an existing civilian FPV film to 9:16, judge the sequence as an explanation of the venue, not just a succession of centered subjects.
00:02 · Establish the connection
Keep the glazed entrance and the room opening visible together. Centering only the entrance would give the viewer an attractive first image but no reason to associate it with the room shown next. In this fictional opening, a modestly placed crop retains both features without inventing anything beyond the original frame.
00:05 · Keep the wider explanation
Here the landmarks are far apart in the supplied picture. Moving the crop from A to B merely exchanges one missing feature for another. For this portion, show the wider landscape picture with margins inside the vertical canvas. The image becomes smaller, but the connection remains available. Inspect that smaller presentation at its intended viewing size before accepting the tradeoff.
00:08 · Check the return to a tighter view
The existing picture now brings A and B closer together again. A tighter frame is possible, but the change from the wider presentation must still make sense in motion. Watch the join at normal speed: a sudden reframing jump can distract from the room relationship even when both paused pictures look reasonable.
Watch the finished interval, not just these three moments
These checkpoints explain the editorial choice; they do not prove that every intervening frame works. Play the complete interval and ask whether a new viewer can still tell which entrance leads to which room. If margins make the useful detail too small, retain the landscape presentation as a separate deliverable rather than promising that a full-height crop can preserve everything.
