Civil evidence reading · Grade C
A design description is not an explanation of the result
The old Libya article links an aerodynamic design to improved efficiency. That is a cause-and-effect statement, not merely a description of appearance. This civilian reference explains how to read such wording without treating the historical customer or performance narrative as a verified project.
A description can tell you what someone says was changed. A comparison is needed before a reader can meaningfully discuss what was improved.

Locate the comparison hidden inside “improved”
Ask what the description is comparing: an earlier design, another product, a stated requirement or an unspecified expectation. If the comparator is absent, “improved” has no clear reference point for the reader. Do not supply a competing model from a nearby photograph or a familiar product name.
Also identify the quantity being discussed. Efficiency, operating duration and the amount of usable video are not interchangeable expressions. If the source uses only a general term, preserve that limitation rather than translating it into an endurance number.
Separate observation from explanation
An account may describe a difference without showing why it occurred. A changed outline and a favourable comment can coexist without demonstrating that the outline caused the comment's reported result. Keep those statements separate when summarizing the material.

Write a summary that matches the evidence
A civilian reader could write: “The description attributes a benefit to the design, but the comparison supporting that explanation has not been supplied.” That wording preserves the author's claim without presenting it as the reader's finding. It also gives the next conversation a concrete question: which existing comparison is the statement referring to?
If a comparison is later supplied, read its stated scope before widening the conclusion. Do not combine unrelated material into a new explanation. This page does not propose changes to shape, propulsion, batteries or flight operation; its practical purpose is to help a reader distinguish a design description from evidence of a claimed cause.
