RadioMaster GX12 combines a dual-band ExpressLRS radio system with folding antennas and physical flight controls in a handheld case. It is a choice for an FPV drone or a custom UAV when the control link is being specified separately from the camera and video equipment.
The key buying question is which receiver and regional configuration the aircraft will use. The GX12's 2.4GHz and Sub-G 900MHz capabilities do not make every existing receiver compatible. Include the receiver model, firmware and operating region in the enquiry so the radio package can be matched to the aircraft.

The internal hardware uses ExpressLRS. Confirm the receiver's supported band and firmware rather than choosing it solely because its label says ELRS. An existing receiver is useful information for the quotation.
RadioMaster lists FCC and LBT order options. Specify where the equipment will operate; available frequencies and RF settings must suit that region. A dual-band headline is not permission to use every setting everywhere.
| GX12 feature | Selection detail |
|---|---|
| EdgeTX transmitter with ELRS RF firmware | Identify both the handset configuration and the receiver system in the requested package. |
| Up to 16 channels, receiver-dependent | List the aircraft functions and the required receiver outputs. Maximum channel count does not describe every receiver's physical connections. |
| Nano-size, Crossfire-compatible external bay | Name an existing external module before assuming that its mechanical fit, power and firmware support are suitable. |
| 128×64 monochrome OLED | This is the radio interface. Select FPV goggles or another viewing device separately for live camera video. |
The GX01 CNC Hall gimbals use digital output and folding stick ends. RadioMaster lists a 1000Hz gimbal output rate; that figure describes the stick hardware, not the complete delay from pilot input to aircraft movement. Receiver configuration and the rest of the control system remain separate considerations.
Compare the switch positions, grip depth and stick reach with your preferred hand position. The manufacturer's case dimensions are 183×148×78mm and listed mass is 573g. Leave space for the selected battery arrangement, carrying protection and any rear module rather than treating the bare case dimensions as a packed-kit measurement.

The GX12 accepts a 6.6–8.4V DC supply. The documented battery arrangements include a suitable 2S lithium-polymer pack or two 3.7V 18650 cells. Batteries are not included in the standard package; a supplied tray should not be mistaken for a set of cells.
USB-C provides data and charging connections, with 2S balance charging listed by RadioMaster. Ask for the exact battery and charging arrangement to be identified in the offer. Confirm that any battery already owned is an approved fit before ordering around it.
