CAN-connected navigation receiver
Choose the GNSS connection before comparing accuracy figures
The SIYI UniGNSS M10 is a DroneCAN navigation module built around the u-blox UBX-M10050 receiver. It combines satellite reception with an IST8310 compass in a 31g enclosure. For a UAV buyer, its main selection question is whether the proposed flight-control system supports this receiver and its CAN connection.
| Selection question | UniGNSS M10 evidence |
|---|---|
| Which data connection? | DroneCAN is listed in the supplied catalog. |
| Which navigation role? | Standard multi-constellation GNSS with compass; no RTK capability is claimed here. |
| Which physical package? | 50.3 × 50.3 × 13.6mm and 31g before project-specific mounting provisions. |

Read the constellation and rate information together
The catalog lists GPS/QZSS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo reception. It also distinguishes a maximum navigation rate of 25Hz with one GNSS from a maximum of 10Hz when three or more GNSS systems operate concurrently. A faster headline value should therefore not become a blanket promise for every configuration. Ask which receiver configuration and output rate are proposed for your flight controller.
The 1.5m CEP horizontal accuracy figure is a manufacturer-listed receiver specification. CEP is a statistical measure, so it should not be treated as a guaranteed maximum aircraft position error. Obstructions, installation and the operating environment still affect the positioning information available to the larger system.
Review compass and filtering as separate features
The IST8310 compass and LNA-plus-SAW filtering are named parts of the M10 design. The compass supplies a different kind of information from satellite position, while the filter arrangement belongs to the receiver hardware. Neither feature proves that a complete drone can operate without installation checks or with unlimited resistance to interference.
Allow room for the enclosure and cable
Compare the 50.3mm enclosure width with the actual receiver location on the aircraft. The underside image helps identify where the cable leaves the housing; it does not define the required mounting parts. The catalog lists a 4.5–5.5V input and an operating range of −30 to 60°C. Any bracket, cable or additional protection should appear separately in the package description.

UniGNSS M10 selection questions
- Is this an RTK module?
- The supplied M10 entry describes a standard GNSS receiver. Request a separately identified RTK product when correction-based positioning is required.
- Will it always provide a 25Hz update?
- No. The catalog gives different maximum rates for different constellation conditions. Confirm the intended receiver configuration.
- Can it replace a serial GNSS module directly?
- Not from the model name alone. The M10 is listed with DroneCAN, so the controller support and supplied connection need checking.
