A conventional GNSS receiver choice
Identify the receiver and controller connection before ordering M9N GPS
The SIYI M9N GPS combines a u-blox NEO-M9N satellite receiver with an IST8310 compass. It is a standard GNSS component for a supported civil drone navigation system. Choose it by the flight-controller combination, receiver interface and physical installation requirements, rather than assuming that a familiar round housing makes it equivalent to another GPS module.

Check the navigation role
The catalog names GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo reception, with LNA and SAW filtering. This is a conventional GNSS entry. It does not claim RTK correction capability or centimeter-level positioning. If those functions are required by the project, request a separately identified receiver intended for that role.
Check the data connection
SIYI describes a UART interface for M9N GPS. Confirm the flight-controller model, firmware and supplied receiver lead in the offer. A connector's appearance is not enough to establish that every cable or receiver can be swapped directly, especially when comparing a serial module with a CAN-connected alternative.
Check the physical package
The specified enclosure measures 50 × 50 × 13.1mm and the catalog mass is 35g. Allow separately for the selected mounting hardware and cable route. The working voltage is listed as 4.8–5.2V, while the operating temperature range is −10 to 70°C.

For replacement or repeat orders, include the existing combination
Send the exact flight-controller model, software requirement and present receiver identification when requesting M9N GPS. State whether a cable, mounting bracket or a complete replacement assembly is needed. Clear component names help a supplier distinguish a module-only order from an offer containing additional accessories.
For a new drone project, describe the navigation role and available receiver space. The model's published receiver, compass and enclosure facts support a useful comparison; the performance of the finished aircraft still depends on the selected system and installation.
M9N GPS selection questions
- Is M9N an RTK module?
- No RTK capability is claimed for this catalog entry. SIYI lists separate RTK products for a correction-based positioning requirement.
- Is the M9N the same as UniGNSS M10?
- No. They use different named receivers, and the catalog describes UART for M9N and DroneCAN for M10. Compare the controller support and supplied package.
- What should I provide for a replacement quotation?
- Include the existing module and controller models, the cable requirement and any mounting parts that need replacing. Do not rely only on a housing photo.
