DJI Zenmuse P1 · Aerial photogrammetry

A full-frame mapping camera built around the photo dataset

DJI Zenmuse P1 combines a 45MP full-frame camera with a three-axis gimbal for supported Matrice UAVs. Select it when the required output is a set of aerial photographs for surveying or photogrammetry, rather than choosing an inspection payload mainly for live zoom viewing. The aircraft, fixed-focal lens and processing workflow are the key package decisions.

Start with the deliverable: confirm the photo coverage, detail and file formats your mapping workflow needs. A 45MP sensor is a camera specification; it does not guarantee a particular survey accuracy without the relevant flight, positioning and processing conditions.

Choose the lens before comparing packages

The P1 supports DJI DL 24mm F2.8 LS ASPH, 35mm F2.8 LS ASPH and 50mm F2.8 LS ASPH lenses. These are interchangeable fixed-focal lenses. They are not three settings of an optical-zoom lens, and the lens fitted in a product photograph should not be assumed to be the one included in every quotation.

Lens choiceWhat changes at the same heightQuestion for the package
24 mmA wider view than the 35 mm and 50 mm optionsDoes the required area coverage favor the wider focal length?
35 mmA field of view between the other two supported lensesDoes this focal length suit the planned photo scale and flight layout?
50 mmA narrower view than the 24 mm and 35 mm optionsWhat coverage and image-detail tradeoff fits the deliverable?

Give the quotation team your intended lens rather than asking for “P1 with zoom.” Flight height, image overlap and the processing requirements still need their own planning. No fixed flight height, area per flight or accuracy result is assigned to these lens choices on this page.

Match the camera to a supported Matrice aircraft

DJI's current specifications and FAQ list Matrice 300 RTK, Matrice 350 RTK and Matrice 400. The P1 uses a detachable DJI SKYPORT mount. Provide the exact aircraft, controller and firmware when discussing an existing fleet; a generic UAV payload connector or sufficient lift capacity does not establish DJI system compatibility.

For M300 RTK and M350 RTK, the listed arrangement uses the single downward gimbal connector. DJI also lists Matrice 400 support through the single downward connector or either port of the dual downward arrangement, while warning that dual-payload use can reduce mapping accuracy. Select the installation against the current aircraft documentation.

What the image and file specifications tell you

Photo capture

The 35.9 × 24 mm sensor records up to 8192 × 5460 pixels in a 3:2 image. Supported photo formats include JPEG, DNG and JPEG+DNG. Choose the required format around the software and review process that will handle the photographs.

Storage and assembly

DJI lists SD storage of UHS-I or above, up to 512 GB. The published assembly reference is approximately 800 g, 198 × 166 × 129 mm and 20 W. Include the selected lens, aircraft arrangement and accessories when checking the complete order.

The three-axis gimbal stabilizes tilt, roll and pan. The published IP rating is IP4X; it should not be treated as a general waterproof rating. Keep environmental suitability separate from camera resolution when deciding how the payload will be used.

Specify what the quotation should include

  • The P1 camera and the exact 24 mm, 35 mm or 50 mm lens requested.
  • Your supported Matrice aircraft, mounting arrangement and current controller.
  • Required photo formats, suitable storage, carrying equipment and quantity.
  • Whether the order is a camera addition to an existing fleet or a broader aircraft package.

Discuss a P1 mapping-camera package with FD

Send the aircraft model, desired lens, mapping deliverable, storage needs and delivery country. FD can quote the named DJI product and identify the included camera, lens and accessories clearly. Aircraft shown in the installation photograph is for context and is not automatically included.
