Coordinate the camera view and the illuminated area
FD G200 combines an optical-zoom visible camera, a three-axis mechanical gimbal and an automatically zooming searchlight. It is a camera-and-lighting option for civil UAV projects that need a more deliberate change of viewing angle than a fixed wide-angle camera offers. The searchlight supports visible imaging; it is not a thermal sensor.

Start with the inspection distance and required detail
The visible channel is documented with a 1/2.7-inch SC2235 CMOS sensor, 2 MP effective pixels and an F1.6–F3.5 aperture range. The manufacturer's zoom and focal-length entries are not entirely consistent, so this page does not use a single magnification ratio to promise a particular inspection result. Describe the feature to be seen and the intended working distance when comparing the supplied camera version.
The published horizontal field-of-view range is 3.2° to 58.3°. Camera framing and searchlight coverage should be considered together: a scene can fit the visible frame yet still require different lighting for useful inspection images. The light is listed at 2500 lm and 6500 K, with automatic zoom; those figures do not establish a guaranteed observation distance.
| System part | Documented role | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Visible camera | Optical zoom and 1080p output | Viewing distance and smallest useful feature |
| Searchlight | Supplemental visible illumination | Ambient light and the area requiring illumination |
| Mechanical gimbal | Independent camera orientation | Mounting position and available movement clearance |

Choose the receiving and recording arrangement
G200's documented network connection carries RTSP video with H.264 or H.265. Live video and local video recording are listed as 1080p, with AVI video and JPG photographs on supported storage. MicroSD capacity up to 256 GB and FAT32 are specified. Identify whether the requirement is a live inspection view, saved footage, still photographs or a combination.
The manual's control table lists Ethernet. Its Chinese specification describes SBUS and UART as functions for later version upgrades. Do not assume that a photographed connector or a listed future interface means the delivered unit already supports the required command set. Confirm the actual camera, receiver and firmware combination, especially for a replacement in an existing installation.
Plan for the complete assembly
The listed 500 g mass and 126 × 120 × 135 mm dimensions include the quick-release damping plate. Available travel is −90° to +45° in pitch, ±150° in yaw and ±45° in roll. Include the aircraft adapter and cables in the installed load and check clearance throughout the intended camera movement.
Allow for the lighting load
The supply entry is 18–72 V. Published working-current entries are 160 mA and 1 A with the searchlight on, without a stated test voltage. Ask for the delivered version's electrical load under the intended lighting mode rather than deriving a universal power consumption from these entries.
G200 buyer questions
- Is G200 a visible-and-thermal dual-sensor camera?
- No. The documented second front element is the searchlight, not a thermal imaging channel.
- Are SBUS and UART guaranteed current control methods?
- The cited manual treats them as later-upgrade features. The actual delivered interface support needs confirmation; Ethernet is the documented control connection.
- What helps FD select the package?
- Send the application, viewing distance, required image detail, lighting conditions, aircraft mount and receiving equipment. For replacements, include the existing installed version and the functions that must remain compatible.
