Visible and thermal imaging on a three-axis gimbal
The GC30 Dual Sensor Gimbal Camera combines a 40× optical-zoom visible camera and a 640×512 uncooled LWIR thermal imager. Civil FPV drone and UAV inspection teams can evaluate it for projects that need both scene detail and thermal imagery. The brochure also lists a laser rangefinder; “dual sensor” here describes the two imaging channels, rather than the total number of sensors in the assembly.
The brochure's 40× figure is optical zoom for the visible camera. Use a sample from the offered configuration to judge whether the required surface detail can be identified. It is not a 40× thermal-zoom specification.
The listed infrared detector is 640×512 uncooled LWIR. A thermal picture is an imaging output. Its display layout, saved channel and usefulness for the intended review still need to be established with the supplier.
IR temperature measurement is described as optional. Confirm whether the ordered unit includes it, what result it produces and how that result is delivered. A thermal image alone does not establish an included temperature-measurement package.
The supplier lists HDMI and IP video output, TF-card storage, and PWM, S.Bus, UART, TCP and UDP control methods. These names identify available interface families. They do not prove compatibility with a particular ground station, recorder or flight platform. Ask the supplier to identify the supported combination and the configuration used for the sample output.
The table lists JPG image storage and MP4 video storage. Confirm which imaging channel each file contains, whether separate visible and thermal files are available, and what metadata accompanies them. Temperature values or measurement data in a saved file require their own confirmation; a file extension is insufficient evidence.
The source contains conflicting power figures and an unclear dimension string. Those values are omitted. Weather protection, image fusion, picture-in-picture and temperature accuracy are not promised here. Request corrected documentation where they affect the intended installation or inspection result.
The 40× optical specification belongs to the visible camera. The supplied material does not establish the same zoom for the thermal channel.
The narrative calls it optional. Identify the ordered option and ask for its actual result format before making temperature data part of acceptance.
Send one example of the visible detail you need to review and state whether the thermal requirement is a picture or a temperature-data deliverable. Those two inputs give the supplier a clear basis for identifying the proposed camera configuration.

References come from the supplier brochure's GC30 page, not an independent sample test. Power consumption, dimensions, weather suitability, temperature accuracy and delivered software compatibility need configuration-specific documentation.
