The Gremsy ORUS L is a complete EO/IR camera payload for drone projects that can accommodate an integrated optical, thermal and gimbal assembly. This product description follows the manufacturer's Standard configuration. It combines 25x optical EO zoom with a 640 × 512 thermal core and an IP55-rated housing. The important buying decision is broader than camera resolution: confirm installed mass, power, the live viewing format and the thermal information your inspection report must retain.

The current camera specification lists 25x optical zoom and a 4K-capable EO camera. That gives the aircraft team an integrated visible-imaging option without confusing enhanced or digital zoom with the lens's optical ratio.
The Standard thermal column specifies 640 × 512 at 30Hz with a fixed 19mm lens. It supports a runtime radiometric overlay. Decide whether that viewing result meets your inspection need before assuming that every recorded file contains temperature data.
The published protection rating is IP55. Evaluate that housing alongside the installation, connectors and maintenance requirements of your aircraft. A rating is a defined product specification, not a guarantee of unrestricted exposure in every operating condition.
For industrial work, an EO view can provide colour context around an asset while the infrared channel provides a different view of its thermal pattern. The value of pairing them depends on the information the operator or report reviewer actually needs. If a smaller EO/IR system is the starting point, compare the Gremsy VIO F1 product with the same installation and data requirements.
| Required deliverable | What the Standard specification establishes | Purchasing implication |
|---|---|---|
| Live visible viewing | HDMI 1080p60 and Ethernet streams up to 1080p60 are listed. | Choose the receiver and display around the actual stream, even though the EO camera itself is 4K-capable. |
| Thermal viewing with readings | Runtime radiometric overlay is listed. | Decide whether displayed values are sufficient for the application. |
| Saved Standard thermal images and video | JPEG and MP4 appear in the Standard file-format column. | Request an example of the actual saved output for your review process. |
| Radiometric JPEG for later analysis | The Standard column explicitly marks radiometric JPEG as unsupported. | Review another documented configuration if this file type is a requirement. |
Those distinctions help prevent an expensive mismatch after delivery. A thermal image can be suitable for visual comparison while still failing a requirement for software-readable temperature data. Likewise, the advertised camera resolution and the live downlink resolution belong to different parts of the system. Define both in the product enquiry.

Gremsy lists approximately 1504g ±15g for the Standard payload with quick release and damping, or approximately 1388g ±10g with quick release only. Its published dimensions are 165 × 140 × 248mm. Compare the relevant assembly with the aircraft's available capacity and clearance.
The supply range is 19–52V DC, with average power listed at 30W and maximum power at 100W. Size the aircraft-side provision around the applicable demand, rather than using the average figure as a maximum. The payload's power supply is a separate question from its control-data connection.
The documented control choices include UART, Ethernet UDP, S.Bus and Gremsy's payload SDK. Identify the actual flight-controller or onboard-computer integration intended for the project. A supported protocol family does not establish that every firmware combination, cable and application has already been verified together.

The current specification gives 25x optical. Its separate 30x enhanced setting combines optical and digital enlargement and is limited to 1080p. We keep those descriptions separate.
No. The current stream table lists HDMI and Ethernet viewing up to 1080p60. Request the actual output format needed by your receiver and display.
Compare a representative image from the complete intended installation at the resolution you need. Request sample footage from the intended mounting arrangement and video mode. Electronic stabilization modes have resolution conditions.
Ask FD for an ORUS L Standard integration quotation. Include aircraft capacity, mounting space, available supply, the receiving device and the thermal files required by your reporting software. This lets the camera configuration and supporting hardware be considered together.
